'ISH' SHADOW BOXING SHOWDOWN
‘ISH’ No-Contact Shadow Boxing Competition:
Official Rules & Prizes
Shadow boxing competitions are a thrilling way to showcase reflexes, creativity, and swagger—without any physical contact. Below are the official rules, performance guidelines, judging criteria, and prizes for this unique event.
Eligibility
-
All participants must register by Saturday, June 21st @ 2pm.
-
Contestants must be 13 years of age or older.
-
The competition is co-ed and open to all skill levels.
-
Attire must be modest and family-friendly. Swimwear, revealing outfits, or clothing deemed inappropriate for a general audience will not be allowed.
How It Works
-
Two contestants enter the “ring” with their entourage and cornermen—accompanied by dramatic walkout music and crowd energy.
-
The goal: trick your opponent into looking in the direction you point (the "ISH").
-
The Red Corner begins with a single-direction feint (point).
-
If the Blue Corner opponent looks away from the indicated direction immediately, no point is scored. Roles switch.
-
If the Blue Corner looks in the same direction or hesitates, the Red Corner scores a point and initiates the next round.
-
Rounds Progress as Follows:
-
Round 1: Single-direction point
-
Round 2: Repeat previous direction + add a second direction. The defender must follow the first but resist the second.
-
Round 3: Add a third direction. If the defender follows all three, it’s a KO!
-
If no knockout occurs, contestants alternate offensive rounds.
-
Points are awarded each time a contestant successfully causes their opponent to look in the pointed direction when they shouldn’t.
-
Each match is 2–3 minutes long. If no knockout occurs, judges award a Technical Knockout (TKO) based on points.
Performance Guidelines
-
Be creative and fluid. Impress the crowd with your style—just keep it respectful.
-
Costumes are encouraged, as long as they are appropriate.

Props are not allowed unless explicitly approved by organizers.
